This project was a fairly straight forward job as most of the walls were all under 1.0 high. Stringline built this project based on a design construct option with special detail around the portions of the walls being seen from the roadway being Painted Black posts with Dark Charcoal sleepers. There will be another 11 stages to be built, so keep an eye on this space.
The retaining walls were built on internal to-be titled boundaries up to 1.0m high. Custom fence cleats were fabricated and supplied welded to the steel soldiers to satisfy the structural engineering requirements for fencing. Sleepers were supplied in ICONs ‘slate’ colour to match the existing stage.
This project had some complex tiered wall arrangements, with walls on internal title boundaries and offset to boundaries. Earthworks and construction of the individual tiers were coordinated to construct the walls from the top tier working down to the lower tiers.
We constructed 550.0 lm of retaining walls ranging from 0.6m-1.8m high, in very sandy soil conditions. The sandy soils caused significant access issues for concrete deliveries, resulting in the situation where concrete had to be brought to pier locations with a kibble bucket. Meetings and discussions with several consultants were required, to fine tune levels and finalise the design. Due to many adjacent properties bordering the development, 27 protection work notices had to be issued to the adjacent homeowners.
This site was an old quarry site that had come to the end of its practical life. Stringline worked on multiple stages and sections within the estate during 2022 and 2023. Stringline built 640 lm of retaining wall in stage 2, 1390 lm in stage 3, and 730 lm in stage 4. Wall heights ranged from 0.4 – 2.6m in height.
Stringline built all the rock walls, gabions, and in-situ concrete structures for two recreational parks in this new residential estate. The works were time-based as defined by the principal contractor.
